This programme gives you a thorough understanding of music in general and its impact on our daily lives. It is intended for students who have an interest in both classical and popular music and wish to take modules in both areas on an equal basis. It is particularly well suited to students whose future careers (for example, in arts administration or studio production) will benefit from a wide-ranging knowledge of music of different types. Programme content The programme moves on from foundational modules in both classical and popular music in year one to open up, in years two and three, the full menu of modules available to students taking the separate 'classical' (W300) and 'popular' (W310) programme. For example, in year two, Methods of Analysis Two from the W300 menu can be studied alongside Pop Acts and Intermediaries from the W310 menu.
