Course info
This programme is aimed at science, mathematics or engineering graduates with an interest in sustainable water resources. The environmental changes in rivers, estuaries and coastlines as a result of global warming and other human influences are already apparent: increased frequencies of storms, drought and flooding; changes in water temperature; coastal erosion. The programme focuses on the modelling of water from the perspective of the natural resource and its engineered procurement and use. It aims to provide a one-year training package which will enable the water and civil engineering industries to draw on a skilled pool of research-oriented staff, either at MRes level or subsequently, after completion of a further period of study for a PhD degree. With this focus, the MRes programme involves a more significant research element (50% of the programme) than our MSc programmes. The taught element of the programme is designed to provide essential scientific knowledge and core personal and research skills. Programme Structure. This 12-month programme is supported by a wide cross-section of industry and there are opportunities for off-campus placements for project work. EPSRC studentships covering registration fees and maintenance for UK nationals or fees only for other EU nationals are available for candidates with suitable Honours degrees.
How much will it cost?
Variable fees are applicable for full time and part time courses. These fees are subject to change, details are available from the provider.
Entry Requirements
Taught degree entry requirements: a 2.i or equivalent undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study.
