Course info
The Division of Medical Microbiology has gained a research income of £8 million over the last five years. A proportion of our research is carried out in collaboration with industry, both pharmaceutical and diagnostic. A wide variety of research and analytical technologies are available including: Cell culture, bacterial and viral culture, Electron, fluorescence and Nomanski phase microscopy, Electrophoresis and iso-electric focusing (PFGE, TTGE), DNA and RNA amplication by polymerase chain reaction, Enzyme linked immuno-assay, Automated DNA sequencing and synthesis, Microassays for genomic and transcriptomic analyses.
