Course info
The programme analyses the complexities of humanitarian programme management and investigates current approaches and appropriate tools for managing humanitarian and development programmes. Participants explore techniques for managing themselves, other people, and organisations, and acquire the practical skills and confidence required to manage the financial aspects of humanitarian programmes to maximise their efficiency, effectiveness and accountability. The programme also provides an interdisciplinary forum in which participants from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, for example health, political and social sciences, engineering, agriculture, development, international humanitarian law, human rights, administration, and media, may critically review and debate key issues of mutual interest. In addition, the programme offers participants the opportunity of developing and undertaking a research project in an area of special interest. The programme is run in partnership with Bioforce Development Institute. Situated in Lyon, France, this is an international centre of excellence for professional training and human resources management, specialising in training for the needs of professionals in the field including logistics, administration and project management.
