PhD students normally register initially for an MPhil with transfer to PhD, and backdating to the start of registration, at the end of the first year (second year if part-time) if progress has been satisfactory. Staff research interests cover early prehistory and the ancient world until late antiquity, archaeological science through to classical literature, history and ancient languages.
