Course info
If you are interested in how infrastructure encourages sustainable economic development for future generations, this programme will interest you. It is similar to the Civil Engineering BEng (Hons) programme but concentrates on those aspects of Civil Engineering that most affect environmental quality. These would, for example, include the sustaining of water supplies or river and coastal flood defences under population growth and climate change scenarios, the control of air pollution and noise associated with the provision of transportation facilities and systems to overcome the problems of water pollution and waste water disposal. This programme emphasises practical design problems and the development of teamwork. In addition to covering core topics in Civil Engineering: Structural Design and Analysis, Fluid Mechanics, Land Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Highway Engineering, Traffic Engineering and Hydraulics, you will also look at various environmental topics including Applied Hydrology, Water Resources, River and Coastal Pollution and Transport Infrastructure Design, Maintenance and Management. The programme includes an individual research project as well as an interdisciplinary group study and a group design project.

How much will it cost?
