This is a practical, hands-on programme in Anatomy that allows you to combine a programme of classical dissection with a choice of modules in laboratory-based Biomedical Sciences, Psychology or Archaeology. This degree will suit you if you want a thorough understanding of the structure and function of the human body. Our students are well prepared to compete for graduate entry to Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Diagnostic Radiography and Physiotherapy, for higher degrees, and for careers in biomedical science, archaeology, forensic science, palaeontology, sports science and teaching. You will carry out a systematic dissection of the human body, working in groups of about 7, guided by a series of related lectures. You will also choose modules from Human Embryology, Practical Laboratory skills, Primate Biology, Human Evolution and Hominid Palaeontology. The third year includes the opportunity for a laboratory-based project in one of the internationally renowned research groups in the Department.
