Course info
This is a 3 year degree. It covers the core theory and practice of Accounting and Finance, and lets you extend your knowledge into related disciplines. This programme grants exemption from examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and other professional bodies, including ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAS and IEACW. The Department maintains close links with the accountancy profession and you will be exposed to the practical applications of what you are learning - so teaching is relevant. This degree provides excellent preparation for a career as an accountant or other type of manager. You will take modules in Accounting and Finance, Economics, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, Financial Management, Law, IT and Mathematics for Economics and Business, amongst others. These core subjects are complemented by a choice of more specialised subjects (i.e. Health Economics, Econometrics or Securities Markets) and include options to study other subjects that interest you (i.e. Modern Languages or Politics). Extra lectures in Mathematics are available for those without prior training.
