Course info
Accelerators have been essential tools for particle physics research for decades. Accelerators are used in areas as diverse as food sterilisation & welding. Future developments may results in accelerators being used to solve the problem of nuclear waste disposal as well as allowing the construction of new, cleaner nuclear power station. The University of Liverpool is closely involved with two new accelerator projects, the Centre for Accelerator Science Imaging & Medicine and the Tera-electronvolt Energy Superconducting Linear Accelerator.

Entry Requirements
Research degree entry requirements: a first or good second class Honours degree from a British University or equivalent. All graduates of non-UK universities are required to provide evidence of satisfactory communications skills in English language. A typical requirement is an IELTS score of 6.5; TOEFL paper-based score of 570; TOEFL computer based score of 230; TOEFL internet-based score of 76.
